Citing a case
Cite the case ID and the date of the version you read. Each case page has a copyable citation:
misaligned.fyi. “OpenAI evaluation agents compromise Hugging Face.” Case MF-001, record updated 17 Oct 2026. https://misaligned.fyi/cases/openai-hugging-face-intrusion
Claims have their own permalinks (for example #claim-CLM-002), so you can point to the exact assertion and its sources.
Using the data responsibly
- Counts describe documented cases, not how often AI systems misbehave.
- Do not sum cases into victims: several cases can involve the same affected organization.
- Keep the category: a controlled experiment is not an incident.
- Evidence levels describe who corroborates an account, not whether it is true. See the methodology.
